Logitech Portable Webcam C905 Review
In this article I have reviewed Logitech Portable Webcam C905.
First thing that made me happy when I got the package, was a small form of actual camera. I spend a lot of time on business trips and use Skype intensively, so I always need to have camera with me in order to be able to talk with my partners whenever is necessary.
The other quality of this camera that I would like to point out is its image quality. Camera also does very well in situations when there is a need for image adjustment, such as light change. Movements are showed clearly and without blur associated with cheaper products from other manufacturers.
Software installation completed without problems. Instructions are clear, but I don't think that anyone actually reads them, since everything is done automatically. Other people have reported that installation program can sometimes become unresponsive when trying to find if camera is connected to the PC, but I didn't encounter such a problem. The viable solution in this situation is to be patient, as the reason for this kind of behaviour is definitely a delay in USB device detection.
As I already mentioned, the main reason for me to purchase this camera was for Skype communication. Camera works flawlessly with Skype. The only thing that had to be adjusted while configuring Logitech Portable Webcam C905 for Skype usage, was the microphone. This didn't actually present a real problem, since it can be easily done from Options- gt;Sound Devices menu in Skype. The only unusual thing that you have to do if you plan to use camera with Skype, is that you need to close Logitech Quickcam software, since both application cannot use the device in the same time.
Logitech Portable Webcam C905 can be clipped to the laptop screen, but if you try to use it in desktop environment on a provided stand - don't bother. Stand is very unstable and creates wobbles, that are then affecting the picture. Fortunately, majority of users already have LCD screens, so it is not a problem to clip the device to them.
I am very satisfied with Logitech Portable Webcam C905. I am recommending this device to anyone who wants to have small web camera with superb image quality.
